Timber Installations

Our studio produces large-scale installations in timber, drawing on our expertise in fine woodworking and sculptural design. We work closely with Architects, Developers, and Private Clients to deliver refined timber commissions that celebrate craftsmanship and natural materials.

Timber Cocoon

This Timber Cocoon is intended as a private space within the busy foyer of the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

The 6 metre tall and 3.5m diameter structure is a curving latticework of Ash. It’s construction is an exciting achievement in timber engineering and craftsmanship. The construction was carried out in conjunction with the John J. Sisk Joinery & Apprenticeship School.

Show Jump

This was the winning entry to an open design competition for a feature show jump at the RDS Dublin Horse Show. Intended for use in the Grand Prix and The Aga Khan Trophy.  It has become a recognisable feature in the main arena at the world famous annual event.

The structure is tall but light, so it can be carried by a team of 3 people when laying out alternative courses within the arena. And although it is tall, the elegant fluted shape ensures that it does not obscure the crowd’s view of the horse completing his jump.

The large convex curving latticework was handmade at the DE BRUIR studio in American Ash.
